A Japanese-style street fair and fire ceremony, perfect for all ages. Taiko drumming, Japanese food and drink, tea house, children’s games and activities, all lit by the blaze of torches under the summer stars. Explore a variety of booths featuring Japanese crafts as well as local artists.
Listen for the rhythm of taiko drumming by LA-based TAIKOPROJECT wafting from the top of Snow King Mountain starting at 5PM, announcing the beginning of the 2012 Fire Festival! Taiko drums were originally signal drums and their sound travels far and wide. Then, meet at the Center for the Arts at 5:30 to follow our Mikoshi to the Town Square. Then, the Street Fair begins at 6PM on the Town Square, with food and drink galore, performances by TAIKOPROJECT and local musicians, arts and craft booths, and a Mountain Market, a dazzling celebration lit by the blaze of torches – beer, fire, food & fun for all ages!
